First Snow

It’s not unheard of to get snow on the slopes above Champéry in September. Indeed, there was a hint of white stuff below the Dents du Midi in August this year. Today though, after many weeks of good sunny weather, the elements closed in and we have more than a sprinkling of powder just above Planachaux. Clearly it’s not skiable yet, and it’s certainly not pretty, but that picture shows real snow all the same.
